Vayve Mobility is a relatively new automaker that aims to build electric cars for urban commuting with solar-charging technology. It has primarily been working on the Eva as of now, and another project car that has been codenamed as the CT5.
The upcoming Vayve Eva is the company’s first product that it plans to launch sometime next year. It is a two-door electric microcar that can be alternatively charged via a solar panel that is integrated into the roof of the car.
The concept car had a 14kWh battery pack, and Vayve claims a range of 250 kilometres per charge, though it sounds a bit too ambitious to us. 0-80% charging time is a claimed 45 minutes, and top speed is limited to 70kmph.
As shown in a YouTube video released by the carmaker, the Eva is set to come with a twin-screen setup on the dashboard, steering mounted controls, a glass roof, air conditioning, a sound system, cubby holes for storage, and a driver’s airbag.
Vayve hasn’t determined the official launch date of the Eva yet, but it will show a production-ready version of the electric microcar at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo that is to be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from January 17-22, 2025.
The CEO says that the Eva is likely to be priced somewhere around 60% of the price of a regular electric family hatchback (the Eva can seat only two people though). Pre-bookings shall commence from January 2025.
