Hyundai Motor India witnessed a significant 11.6% drop in total sales compared to August 2023, reflecting a challenging month for the automaker.
Hyundai's domestic sales slightly increased by 512 units MoM, but export sales dropped by 1,900 units, leading to an overall decline.
Comparing August 2024 to August 2023, Hyundai saw a drop of 8,260 units in total sales, with a sharp decline in both domestic and export markets.
Two-thirds of Hyundai's sales in August 2024 came from its SUV lineup, led by the Creta, Venue, and Exeter.
The decline in sales is not limited to India; globally, Hyundai saw a 5.5% decrease in sales in August 2024, with significant drops outside South Korea.
Hyundai is set to launch the 2024 Alcazar facelift on September 9, 2024. Bookings are now open, with the SUV featuring the same powertrain options as before.
Despite the decline, Hyundai remains a strong player in the Indian market. The upcoming Alcazar facelift could help boost sales in the coming months.
