Honda India has recalled about 92,672 units across various models due to a fuel pump issue. The problem arises from a potential defect in the impellers of affected models, which may lead to engine stalling or difficulty starting the vehicle.
The recall impacts models such as the Amaze, City, BR-V, WR-V, Jazz, and Brio, all manufactured between August 8, 2017, and June 30, 2018.
The affected units include an initial 90,468 vehicles identified by Honda, along with an additional 2,204 units of the Accord and Civic, as well as other units that had previously received replacement parts.
Owners who purchased a fuel pump assembly from Honda-authorized dealerships between June 2017 and October 2023 are encouraged to contact their dealer for an inspection.
Affected customers can rest easy regarding the replacement costs, as there will be no fees involved. Starting November 5, 2024, Honda will provide free replacement of the faulty parts at dealerships across India.
Customers can check if their vehicle is part of this recall by visiting the “Honda Car Service Important Information” page. In the Product Updates and Recalls section, you can enter your 17-digit VIN or chassis number, along with your email address and mobile number.
