Maruti Suzuki has launched the fourth generation of its sub-compact sedan, the Maruti Dzire, at a starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new-gen Dzire gets a complete revamp in design along with significant changes on the interior, a new platform, and a new three-cylinder engine.
The new Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that also powers the new Swift. It puts out 82PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 111.7Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. Factory-CNG options are also available from day one.
The new Dzire is underpinned by Maruti Suzuki’s Heartect platform that it also shares with the 2024 Swift. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire measures 3,995mm in length, 1,735mm in width, 1,525mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm. Ground clearance is claimed to be 163mm.
The new Suzuki Dzire gets a complete design overhaul, featuring new angular headlamps connected by a thin chrome bar, and a large front grille. The RS e-tron-like rear lights are also connected by a chrome bar, and there’s a spoiler placed on the boot lid. There’s a shark fin antenna on the top and a fresh design for the alloy wheels.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire comes equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, sunroof, 360-degree cameras, cruise control, and more. Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-hold assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, etc.
The new Dzire is the first India-spec Maruti Suzuki car to achieve a 5-star safety rating in the GNCAP crash test. This is a significant improvement from the outgoing model, which got a 2-star safety rating.
The new Dzire starting price has been announced as Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and it goes up till Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings are open against a token amount of Rs 11,000. A choice of seven exterior colours is available.
