Ford India has officially confirmed that the FordPass app will no longer be supported in India, effective from January 1, 2025. The current active users can continue using the app’s features until the free subscriptions expire on December 31, 2024.
First launched in India in 2020, FordPass is Ford’s comprehensive connected car suite and offers multiple features that can be accessed via their Android or iOS device to seamlessly connect with the cars.
While a long list of features were offered as standard part of the package, the main FordPass features include remote lock/unlock, vehicle locator, vehicle health alerts, remote start, tyre pressure monitoring, engine oil level check, RSA, service booking, and more.
At the moment, Ford India has clearly mentioned that the functioning of the vehicles will not be affected in any case and only the FordPass feature will be removed from January 1, 2025. The users however will not be able to use any connected car features after December 31, 2024.
While there have been multiple reports of Ford’s potential comeback to India, the American carmaker is yet to officially confirm the news. However, the new Ford Everest and the Ford Raptor pickup truck were seen in Chennai a few months ago.
