The eVX is Maruti Suzuki’s first electric car that debuted in a concept stage at the Delhi Auto Expo last year. Following its debut, it was also seen at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2023.
We recently spied the upcoming Maruti eVX being tested under camouflage on the roads of Gurugram. The test mule was covered in black tape all around. We could make out some of the panels and the shut lines though.
The concept of the Maruti eVX showcased at the auto shows measured 4,300mm in length, 1,800mm in width, and 1,600mm in height. The test mule spied by us also featured five-spoke alloy wheels and a slightly sloping roofline and tailgate.
The eVX was also seen equipped with actual ORVMs rather than sleek cameras as seen on the prototype. The handles for the rear doors were placed on the C-pillars rather than on the doors.
While the interior of the eVX has not been revealed to the public yet, we could spot a long panel on the dashboard that extended from the centre and went till behind the steering wheel, likely to be a dual-screen setup for infotainment and instrumentation that is seen as a trend in cars today.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the eVX sometime in 2025. The test-mule spotted by us looked close to being production-ready, at least from the outside. Maruti Suzuki will take the wraps off of the eVX on the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024.
