The Octavia is one of the most popular Skoda cars around the globe, and is available in various iterations such as a sedan, an estate, and a performance-oriented vRS version.
Skoda currently has one electric car on sale, the Skoda Enyaq, which is also expected to be launched in India sometime this year. Following the Enyaq will be the upcoming Skoda Elroq that was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025.
As per a report by Autocar UK, a concept version of an EV based on the Skoda Octavia will be revealed at the Munich Motor Show in September 2025.
The concept will reportedly be unveiled in an estate form, though we also expect a sedan version to follow. It will be based on the new SSP architecture rather than Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform.
The Skoda Octavia EV will be closely related to the Volkswagen ID Golf that is also in a concept stage right now. The two cars are likely to share their platform and other key components.
Skoda Auto has a number of upcoming cars and SUVs lined up for India launches such as the new Skoda Superb, Skoda Octavia vRS, and the second generation Skoda Kodiaq.
