First seen as a concept in 2021, Renault has now revealed the Bigster SUV under its budget brand Dacia. Here’s what you need to know about it.
The Bigster is based on the Renault Duster but measures around 230mm longer than the latter. It has a 2,700mm long wheelbase and sits on 19-inch alloy wheels.
While the Bigster that has just been showcased by Renault/Dacia is a 5-seater SUV, the one that might be launched in India will most likely be a 6-7 seater SUV, going against cars such as the Kia Carens and Hyundai Alcazar.
The Bigster borrows most of its styling cues from the Duster, featuring the Y-shaped design across the exterior as well as the interior. The Y-shape can be seen in the headlights, tail lights, air-con vents, and the door handles on the inside.
The Bigster revealed by Dacia features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ADAS suite, and more.
The Bigster might make its way to India after the Duster that is set to be launched in 2025, though Renault hasn’t yet confirmed the same. If launched, it will most likely feature 6-7 seats and will rival cars such as the Carens, Alcazar, Safari, and XUV700.
