Mahindra had entered the global EV market with its brand-new set of born-electric SUVs — BE 6 and XEV 9e — a few months back. They are the first BEVs from the Indian carmaker, as the Mahindra XUV400 EV was a retrofitted car.
Earlier, it was mandatory to buy one of Mahindra’s two EV chargers along with the BE 6 and XEV 9e. The carmaker has just revised its policy and has allowed customers to buy their new electric SUVs without the home charger, under three specific conditions.
If your residence or office lacks provisions for a private charger.
If you already have a charger that meets Mahindra’s safety standards.
For families purchasing two or more Mahindra eSUVs, a single charging point may suffice.
Mahindra’s 7.2kW AC charger costs Rs 50,000, and the faster 11.2kW AC charger costs Rs 75,000. The chargers are sold alongside the BE 6 and XEV 9e, and the price of the charger isn’t included in the price of the cars.
