Known as the BMW XM Label Red in markets outside India, the BMW XM Label has made its way to our land. And it’s not just another overpriced cosmetic edition, this one packs in more power and torque than the ‘regular’ XM; as if it wasn’t enough to begin with.
BMW has announced that it will be producing just 500 units of the XM for the whole world, of which, only a single example has been allotted to India. If you got all excited reading this, we would ask you to hold your horses as it might have already been grabbed by someone due to the exclusivity that comes with it.
The BMW XM Label is powered by a monstrous V8 engine paired to an electric system, making it a plug-in-hybrid SUV. The combined output of the said powertrain is 758PS of power and 1,000Nm of torque! The XM Label features an 8-speed automatic transmission that delivers the power to all four wheels.
Despite weighing more than 2.5 tonnes, the BMW XM Label can sprint to 100kmph from standstill in 3.8 seconds. BMW XM Label top speed is limited at 250kmph, which can be pushed to 290kmph with the M Driver’s Package.
The XM Label flaunts red accents around the front grille, rear diffuser, and the greenhouse, that steal the attention from the red brake callipers. The body is finished in Frozen Carbon Black and the car sits on 22-inch M light alloy wheels.
Quite obviously, the XM Label gets a black-themed interior with red accents, complementing the exterior. The seats feature dual-tone red and black upholstery with red stitching. There’s also BMW’s curved display on duty on the XM Label.
The only BMW XM Label unit on sale in the country has been priced at Rs 3.15 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). This makes it more than 20% more expensive than the standard BMW XM, which is priced at Rs 2.60 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi).
