BMW sells a wide range of cars in India, from family SUVs like the BMW X7 to performance sedans like the BMW M340i. Some of these are locally assembled in India, while others are imported as completely built-up units.
BMW India has announced a price hike of up to 3% across its model range in India. This price hike will be effective from January 1, 2025.
BMW India currently assembles nine cars at its Chennai plant in Tamil Nadu. These are the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, BMW 3 Series LWB, BMW 5 Series LWB, BMW 7 Series LWB, BMW X1, BMW X3, BMW X5, BMW X7, and BMW M340i.
The German OEM also sells thirteen cars that are imported as CBUs. These include the BMW i4, BMW i5, BMW i7, BMW i7 M70, BMW iX1, BMW iX, BMW Z4 M40i, BMW M2 Coupe, BMW M4 Competition, BMW M4 CS, BMW M5, BMW M8 Competition Coupe, and BMW XM.
On a side note, BMW launched the new M5 in India yesterday, at a price of Rs 1.99 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2025 BMW M5 comes equipped with a V8 hybrid setup that puts out 737PS of maximum power and 1,000Nm of peak torque.
BMW launched a bunch of cars this year in the country, and has a few more scheduled for the upcoming months. These might include the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, new BMW M3, and new BMW X3.
