The Carens EV is Kia’s upcoming MPV in India that will be the South Korean carmaker’s first mass-market EV in the country. Kia hasn’t officially announced the plans to launch an electric Carens, but the same has been spied testing on Indian roads.
Spy shots suggest that the Carens EV would not look too different from Carens ICE, leave for some EV-specific touches like a closed front grille. The test mule also donned new headlamps, which might also make their way to the ICE Kia Carens facelift.
The specs of the electric MPV haven’t been revealed either, but it might get the same powertrain options as the upcoming Hyundai Creta Electric. These include an electric motor that produces 135PS of power with the 42kWh battery pack, and 171PS with the 51.4kWh battery pack.
Kia hasn’t disclosed the launch timeline of the car, nor has it said anything about its appearance at the Delhi Motor Show. We do not expect Kia to showcase the car at the Expo, but it should be launched by the end of this year.
Other upcoming Kia cars in India that are expected to be seen at the Auto Expo include the new Kia Syros SUV and the electric Kia EV6 facelift.
Some noteworthy cars and SUVs that will be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 include the Hyundai Creta Electric, Hyundai Ioniq 9, new Skoda Superb, Electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class, new gen BMW X3, and Porsche Macan EV, among others.
