Audi India is recalling 37 units of the E-Tron GT and RS E-Tron GT due to potential brake failure issues that may develop over time.
The E-Tron GT and RS E-Tron GT models produced from January 9, 2020, to June 12, 2024, are affected by this recall.
According to SIAM, over time, the Audi Etron GT and RS Etron GT may experience significant tension from steering and bending forces, which could lead to cracks developing in the brake hoses at their attachment points on the front axle.
This crack can cause a loss of brake fluid, potentially leading to a failure in the brake system on the front axle.
The rear brakes of the E-Tron GT and RS E-Tron GT models function perfectly, with no issues in the brake circuit on the rear axle. They provide smooth and effective deceleration.
The warning sign in the E-Tron GT and RS E-Tron GT will automatically appear on the instrument cluster if the brake fluid reservoir falls below the minimum level. The message “Brakes: stop the vehicle and check brake fluid level” is crucial, and drivers should not ignore it.
If you're concerned that your vehicle may be affected, you can reach out to your nearest Audi dealership for a check-up.
