Cars are going to get pricier in just a few days’ time from now, as automakers across the country are announcing a price hike that is to be effective from January 1, 2025. MG is the latest entrant to join this list of carmakers.
JSW MG Motor India has announced a price hike of up to 3% across its model range in India. This shall be put into effect from the start of next year, i.e., January 1, 2025.
The upcoming price hike shall affect all MG cars sold in India, including the MG Hector, MG Comet EV, MG Windsor EV, MG Astor, MG Gloster, and MG ZS EV.
Manufacturers are suggesting an increase in input costs as the main reason for this latest price increase in the Indian automotive industry.
Audi, BMW, Hyundai, Kia, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Mercedes-Benz, and MG have so far announced a price increase of up to 3%. Other major manufacturers are also likely to follow suit.
On a side note, MG Motor India is going to snowcase its all-electric convertible, the MG Cybster, in January 2025 in India. It is also expected to reveal the MG Cyberster price at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
