There have been reports circulating about the phasing out of the Maruti Ciaz in the next few months. Here are five reasons why we think it should not be discontinued.
The Ciaz is more affordable than its rivals like the Hyundai Verna and Honda City, and while it might not offer as premium of an experience as them, it provides good value for a significantly lower price.
The rear seat of the Ciaz is typical sedan-like, acing the comfort and practicality factor. It is a good choice for an affordable chauffeur driven sedan.
The dashboard of the Ciaz looks pretty sorted with faux wooden trims and a neat layout. The analogue dials for instrumentation and the MID screen also give it a classy vibe instead of trying to look too futuristic.
The 1.5-litre K-Series engine that does duty on the Ciaz is a no nonsense motor that boasts of class leading fuel efficiency. The only drawback is that being a naturally aspirated unit, it has lower output figures as compared to its competitors’ turbocharged engines.
Needless to say that the Ciaz scores well on the reliability front as well, being a Maruti Suzuki car. The ownership experience is pleasant and free of any major issues.
With all that being said, the Ciaz doesn’t appeal to buyers in its current state and needs a significant overhaul to be able to bring in the numbers for Maruti.
