Skoda Octavia RS (earlier called the Skoda Octavia vRS) is the most affordable performance sedan that has been sold in India, and it is ready to make a comeback in the country in a few weeks’ time.
Skoda Auto India will showcase the new Octavia RS at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Auto Expo that will be held in Delhi from 17-22 January 2025. It is likely to come via the CBU route and be made available in limited units, as has been the case in the past.
The new Skoda Octavia RS comes equipped with a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that has been tuned to produce a maximum power of 269PS and 370Nm of peak torque. It comes paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. There’s also a different exhaust system than the regular Octavia sedan.
Compared to the regular Octavia, the RS gets a blacked-out grille, larger air intakes, vRS badges at the front and rear, a rear lip spoiler, and differently designed alloy wheels. It also sits 15mm lower than the standard car.
The interior of the RS also features sporty bits like red inserts, red ambient lighting, black sport seats with red stitching, vRS-spec steering wheel, and more such enhancements.
Skoda is expected to bring a lineup of new cars to India in the coming weeks, including models like the new Skoda Kodiaq, next generation Skoda Kodiaq, recently launched Skoda Kylaq, and the upcoming Skoda Enyaq electric SUV.
