While it’s no secret that Skoda is readying the new Kodiaq SUV for India, a new report now confirms that the new-gen Kodiaq will make its India debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 taking place in January 2025.
The Kodiaq is Skoda’s flagship SUV that stepped into the second generation back in late-2023. Various test mules have already been caught on test on the Indian roads, ahead of its launch.
The 2nd-gen Kodiaq boasts a complete design overhaul over the earlier generation. It gets connected lamps at the rear with SKODA lettering in the centre, redesigned headlamps, the iconic octagonal front grille, and new alloy wheels. The new Kodiaq is longer and wider, but the wheelbase remains the same.
While the Skoda Kodiaq is offered with a slew of powertrain options globally, the India-spec model will continue with the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the current first-gen Kodiaq.
Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India confirmed that the new Kodiaq will be assembled from CKD kits at one of Skoda-Volkswagen’s India plants. Assembly shall start from March 2025, and the Kodiaq has already been seen testing in Aurangabad quite a few times.
