Ahead of the official launch, local production of the new Long Wheelbase E-Class has begun at Mercedes-Benz's Chakan plant.
The launch of this model is yet to happen in India, scheduled for October 9th. Deliveries for this model will begin by Diwali.
Compared to its predecessor, the new 6th-generation E-Class features a refreshed front fascia with redesigned LED headlamps. The sides showcase a sleeker profile and flush-fitting door handles. At the rear, you'll find a quad-tail lamp design with unique star-shaped lights.
The new-generation E-Class Long Wheelbase (LWB) measures 5,092 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,493 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,094 mm. This model is 14 mm longer, 15 mm wider, and 13 mm taller than its predecessor.
Inside, the new E-Class will feature a 14.4-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch passenger display, and a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster. It will also include four-zone climate control, power-reclining rear seats with an ottoman function, wireless charging, rear-wheel steering, a panoramic sunroof, a selfie camera, a 360-degree camera, and more.
The upcoming E-Class LWB will feature a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing around 194 bhp and 440 Nm of torque, while the diesel variant will also have a 2.0-litre engine, generating about 201 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. Both engines will be paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and a 48V mild hybrid system, offering an additional boost of 23 bhp and 205 Nm for up to 30 seconds.
