The XEV 9e is one of Mahindra’s first two born electric SUVs in India that have just been launched by the automaker. The launch of the XEV 9e and BE 6e mark a momentous occasion for Mahindra as well as for the Indian automotive industry. Here are the top 5 things to know about the new Mahindra XEV 9e electric SUV.

INGLO platform

The Mahindra XEV 9e is underpinned by the all-new INGLO global modular skateboard platform that Mahindra has developed under its partnership with Volkswagen. The INGLO platform claims to be one of the lightest skateboard platforms in the EV industry, as well as one of the safest.

Battery and motor specifications

The XEV 9e gets its power from BYD-sourced battery packs that are available in two options — 59kWh and 79kWh. This new Mahindra electric SUV is being offered in a rear-wheel drive configuration with a 286PS electric motor that generates a torque of 380Nm.

Range and charging time

The claimed Mahindra XEV 9e range stands at 533 kilometres as per the WLTP cycle. Mahindra claims the range to be 500+ km according to its in-house testing procedure. A 20% to 80% charging time of 20 minutes has also been claimed when charged via a 175kW DC fast charger.

Features and dimensions

The new Mahindra XEV 9e gets an extensive list of features including a three-screen layout on the dashboard, 1400-watt 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, Level-2 ADAS functionalities, illuminated glass roof, head-up display, reclining rear seats, and more. 2025 Mahindra XEV 9e price in India

Mahindra has announced the new XEV 9e at an introductory starting price of Rs 21.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai). Prices for the rest of the variants are yet to be announced and deliveries shall begin from February 2025. Stay tuned to CARS24 Autoverse for latest updates!
