The Tasman is Kia’s first pickup truck that was just revealed at the Jeddah International Motor Show ahead of its launch in 2025. Kia aims to bring an innovative product into the segment, and has followed an unconventional approach while designing the truck.
Exterior, bad. Interior, good.
The exterior looks like it was a ‘too many cooks spoil the broth’ job. The interior, on the other hand, has done justice to the minimalism approach unlike most manufacturers today, blending in convention with innovation.
The Tasman will be offered in both 2WD and 4WD configurations, with petrol and diesel engines, depending on the market. The table above contains the powertrain specifications released by Kia.
The new Kia Tasman gets a triple screen layout with two 12.3-inch screens and a smaller 5-inch screen. There are immaculate switches and buttons for basic controls. Other features include ADAS functionalities, an optional 8-speaker Harman sound system, wireless charging pads, and more.
Kia says that they’ll offer the Tasman in nine exterior colour options, five interior themes, and a bunch of accessories to customise your pickup truck, such as roof tents, side steps, et cetera.
The Kia Tasman will debut in South Korea in the first half of 2025. It will then be launched in Australia, Africa, and the Middle East. Communication on a prospective India launch remains elusive.
