A fresh spy image of the upcoming Kia Carens EV reveals its front mounted charging port, which—if you haven’t guessed already—takes inspiration from the Hyundai Creta Electric.
First seen on Indian cars like the Tata Punch and Curvv EV, the Carens EV is also set to offer a front charging port, like its SUV cousin — the Hyundai Creta Electric.
In addition to the front-mounted charging port, the image also revealed the aero-styled alloy wheels of the Carens EV, which take direct inspiration from the larger Kia EV models like the EV9.
Other details about the upcoming Kia Carens electric include a new front fascia with split LED headlights and connected light bar at the front and rear. We expect these design details to be shared with the Carens facelift.
Reports suggest that the upcoming Kia Carens EV will share its underpinnings like battery and motor with the Hyundai Creta Electric, which gets two battery pack options — 42kWh and 51.4kWh.
If reports are to be believed, Kia India will launch the Carens EV in June 2025. The Carens EV will fall in the C-segment space and rival the BYD eMax 7, which currently is the only 7-seater electric MPV on sale in the country.
