The Amaze has been around for a while, and Honda is giving it a generational update for them (Amaze and Honda) to stay relevant. The Amaze also happens to be the most selling Honda car in India, making it a crucial product for the brand.
Reports suggest that the new Amaze will sit on a new platform, which should mean better compliance to crash safety as well as better road manners. A new platform is already seen on the City and Elevate, and Honda is likely to make some changes to make it cost effective for the Amaze.
The powertrain is likely to be carried over from the outgoing model, which consists of a 1.2-litre four-cylinder NA-petrol engine that produces 90PS of maximum power and 110Nm of maximum torque. Expect the same set of gearboxes to be carried over as well. Honda should also offer a CNG variant with the Amaze in order to gain substantial market share.
Honda just released a sketch showing the front design of the upcoming Amaze, giving us a hint of the car’s design. The sketch depicts a large front grille with twin-LED headlights joined by a bar of chrome. We would be able to comment on the design in a more accurate manner once we see the car in person.
A much-needed update inside the cabin is also expected, with a new dashboard layout featuring modern design elements. Some of the features likely to make it to the Amaze include 6 airbags, ESC, wireless charger, a 360-degree camera setup, sunroof, digital driver’s display, and a touchscreen infotainment system.
As per media reports, Honda will launch the next-gen Amaze in India on December 4, 2024. This will be around a month after the launch of the next-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire, one of the main rivals of the Honda Amaze. Other popular rivals being the Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor.
