The Mustang GTD, short for Grand Touring Daytona, is the extreme performance version of the popular American muscle car. It is, in fact, the street legal version of the Ford Mustang GT3 race car.
The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD has become the fastest American production car around the Nurburgring, clocking a commendable lap time of under 7 minutes! To be precise, the Mustang GTD completed a lap of the ‘ring in just 6:57:685. The record was set by Dirk Müller.
The Mustang GTD is powered by a supercharged 5.2-litre V8 engine that comes paired to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The top speed of the car is rated at 325kmph, and the said powertrain produces a maximum power output of 826PS and a peak torque of 900Nm!
Apart from the monstrous powertrain, there have been aerodynamic upgrades made to the Mustang GTD as well, including but not limited to a lower and wider stance, carbon ceramic brakes from Brembo, a front splitter, a carbon fiber underbody tray, and of course, a huge rear spoiler.
