Skoda has unveiled its newest electric SUV, the Skoda Elroq, on October 1, 2024, at its homebase in Prague. Here are the top 5 things to know about the new Skoda Elroq.
The Skoda Elroq is underpinned by Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform that has been purpose-built for electric vehicles. The Elroq measures 4,488mm in length and boasts a wheelbase of 2,765mm.
The Elroq is the first Skoda car to feature the brand’s new ‘Modern Solid’ design language. The Elroq gets sleek segmented DRLs accompanied by inverted-L shaped headlights. There’s a blacked-out closed front grille along with SKODA lettering right above. The rear lights resemble those of the Skoda Enyaq electric SUV.
The Elroq has debuted with three powertrain configurations, namely Elroq 50, Elroq 60, and Elroq 85. Refer to the table above for a simplified arrangement of the specs. The all-wheel drive Elroq 85x shall make its way to the shelves next year.
The Skoda Elroq interior features an uncluttered design with smooth-looking surfaces. There’s a 13-inch infotainment system in the centre with some physical buttons down below (appreciate it, Skoda). A digital driver’s display is also tucked neatly behind the rather immaculate steering wheel.
While the new Skoda Elroq has already been put up for sale in European markets, Skoda is still considering bringing the Elroq to India. If finalised, the Elroq should make its way to our shores sometime in 2025.
