MG has unveiled the new generation of its 5-seater SUV, the MG HS, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The second generation HS SUV is larger and more powerful than its predecessor.
The new MG HS SUV comes with two options for the engines. A 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol-only unit producing 169PS of power. The PHEV version, which comes equipped with the same engine and a 67kW motor, produces an estimated combined output of over 300PS.
The petrol-only version of the MG HS SUV comes with options for a six-speed manual and a seven-speed automatic transmission. The PHEV version comes paired to just the seven-speed automatic gearbox.
The second generation MG HS SUV is larger than the first-gen model. It is 45mm longer, 14mm wider, and has a 45mm longer wheelbase. The previous generation was 21mm taller though.
When run just on the 24.7kWh battery, the claimed electric-only MG HS range is a good 120 kilometres, for the PHEV version.
There has been no official communication on the prospective launch of the MG HS SUV in India from the automaker yet. But, we might get to see the Gloster Facelift and the Cloud EV on Indian roads soon.
