The new Citroen Basalt has scored a 4-star safety rating, becoming the first non-Tata vehicle to be assessed by the Indian crash testing agency. Here is everything you need to know about it.
The new Citroen Basalt has scored 26.19 points out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 19.90 points out of 24 points for child occupant protection.
The Basalt was subjected to a frontal offset deformable barrier test and a side movable deformable barrier test, in which it scored 10.19 out of 16 points in the former and 16 out of 16 points in the latter. The overall rating stood at 4 stars for AOP.
The child occupant protection score too was impressive and the Basalt scored 35.90 points out of 49 points along with a dynamic score of 19.90 points out of 24, a CRS installation score of 12 out of 12 points and a vehicle assessment score of 4 out of 13 points.
It is worth noting the fact that these ratings are valid for all the variants of the new Basalt as the SUV gets all the features required as standard part of the package. These features include six airbags, ESC, ISOFIX anchors, hill-start assist, three-point seat belts and seat belt reminders for all passengers.
The Citroen Basalt price in India starts from Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base variant while the range-topping Max Turbo AT variant is priced at Rs 13.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Six variants of the Basalt are on sale – You, Plus, Plus Turbo, Max Turbo, Plus Turbo AT, and Max Turbo AT.
