If you live in Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore, we empathise with you. A good chunk of our lives in these cities are consumed by the enormous traffic on the roads. Compact Size

The key proposition of the MG Comet is its city-friendly size. This pocket rocket lets you zip through traffic as if you were on a two-wheeler. The compact size also enables easier parking in tight spaces and easier manoeuvring, thanks to its small turning radius of 4.2 metres.

Adequate Range

With a claimed range of 230 kilometres, and a real-life range of around 150 kilometres, as tested by one of our colleagues, the Comet EV provides an adequate range for your intracity commutes. Range anxiety shouldn’t be an issue while using the Comet for your daily local commutes.

Premium Interior

The interiors of the Comet EV are a pleasant place to be in. The interiors are quite spacious, contrary to what you would expect when you first look at the car. The materials used do not feel cheap and the design is well thought of. The buttons and dials are of good quality too.

Lack Of Storage Spaces

You might be a bit disappointed with the amount of storage spaces available inside the car. There’s no glovebox to be seen in the MG Comet, and the boot can fit a couple of laptop bags at max. Though, you can fit plenty of stuff on the rear seats, if you’re travelling alone or with a companion.

Not Suitable For High Speeds And Speed Bumps

The Comet EV is best when driven within city speeds, as it tends to get unstable on higher speeds. Even small bumps and potholes are strongly felt inside the cabin, which might be a bit unsettling and uncomfortable for the occupants.

Premium Pricing

Starting at Rs 6.99 Lakh (ex-showroom), the MG Comet EV might seem expensive to prospective buyers. The unavoidable comparison with the Tata Nano makes it feel premium priced and there are quite a few small hatchbacks available in the Comet’s price range, such as the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Tata Tiago, Citroen C3 and the Renault Kwid.

While the Comet might seem as a product appealing to a niche audience, the reality might be quite different, as India's gigantic population ensures there is a substantial market for such vehicles. Does the Comet EV entice you?
