The Tata Nexon iCNG comes in four main variants: Smart, Pure, Creative, and Fearless. On the other hand, the Punch iCNG is available in three variants: Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished. When comparing the base models of both, the Punch iCNG Pure variant is Rs 1.77 lakh more affordable than the Nexon iCNG Smart (O). A similar price gap is noticeable in their top variants as well, with a huge difference of Rs 4.70 lakh between the Nexon iCNG Fearless Plus PS variant and the Punch iCNG Accomplished Plus Sunroof variant.
If you look at the pricing of the Accomplished Plus Sunroof variant of the Punch, it is almost on par with the third variant of the Nexon iCNG, the Smart Plus S, with only a Rs 10,090 difference. Interestingly, the base model of the Nexon iCNG is priced very close to the mid-level Punch iCNG Adventure Plus Sunroof variant, with just a Rs 4,910 difference between the two.

When we look at the iCNG engine output, the Nexon iCNG stands out with its new turbocharged Revotron engine, delivering a robust 100 PS of power. In contrast, the Punch iCNG’s Revotron engine generates up to 87.8 PS, which is a noticeable difference of almost 13ps. On the torque front, the Nexon also excels, offering 55nm more torque than the Punch. Another advantage for the Nexon iCNG is its 6-speed manual gearbox, compared to the 5-speed manual gearbox found in the Punch iCNG. This combination of power, torque, and a better gearbox gives the Nexon iCNG a clear edge in performance.
Which CNG delivers better comfort and convenience features?
Both models come with a range of safety features, including an electronic stability program, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors, TPMS, central locking, a 360-degree camera, a blind-view monitor, ISOFIX, and a reverse parking camera. However, there are some differences between them. The Punch iCNG has hill hold control and lacks front parking sensors, while the Nexon iCNG offers more advanced safety with six airbags compared to the two airbags in the Punch iCNG. This means that while both vehicles are equipped with essential safety features, the Nexon iCNG provides added protection for passengers.
