Skoda Kylaq vs Kushaq specs comparison — Less is more

The new Skoda Kylaq is closely related to the Kushaq in several ways. Both the cars sit on the same platform and share a common engine. Components such as the steering wheel have also been directly lifted from the Kushaq among other similarities. But then there are some differences too. Design

A key differentiator between the two SUVs is their styling. While the Kushaq gets bold lines and more defined elements across the exterior, the Kylaq is subtler and gets a smooth flowing design. The classic Skoda front grille is more pronounced on the Kushaq and the rear end looks rather appealing. The rear lamps of the kylaq look tiny and the black strip joining the lamps might not be to everyone’s liking. It does get neat alloy wheels though.

Engine 

The Kylaq gets the familiar 1.0-litre TSI unit that can be paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor. The Kushaq too gets this engine, but there’s the option of a bigger 1.5-litre TSI unit as well. This comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Interior and features

The Kylaq carries a lot of features and components from the Kushaq, including the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, HVAC control panel, steering wheel, and digital driver’s display. The Kylaq gets octagonal garnish around the air-con vents. The dashboard layout is similar but the design of the same varies to establish a differentiation between both the cars. 

Skoda Kylaq & Kushaq price in India

The Skoda Kushaq price ranges between Rs 10.89 lakh to Rs 17.19 lakh for the 1.0-litre TSI variants, and between Rs 16.89 lakh to Rs 18.79 lakh for the 1.5-litre TSI variants. The Skoda Kylaq starting price has been announced as Rs 7.89 lakh.
