Hyundai Alcazar vs Kia Carens dimensions

The Hyundai Alcazar measures 20mm longer than the Kia Carens, but it is the Carens that has a 20mm longer wheelbase, providing more space inside the cabin. Both the cars are equally wide and measure almost identical in height too. While the Kia Carens gets smaller 15-inch and 16-inch wheel choices, the Alcazar wheel size options include 17-inch and 18-inch wheels. The bigger wheels on the Alcazar do suit the overall appearance of the car, though the smaller wheels on the Carens provide a smoother ride.

The Kia Carens one-ups the new Hyundai Alcazar in terms of engine options, offering a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit apart from the 1.5-litre turbo petrol and diesel engines. Kia also offers the 6-speed clutchless-manual on the Carens that the Alcazar again misses out on. So, there’s more flexibility if you’re picking a Kia Carens for yourself.

Styling comparison

In simple words, The Carens looks more MPV-ish and the Alcazar gives a more SUV-ish vibe. While the new Hyundai Alcazar takes a lot of styling cues from the Hyundai Creta, the Carens looks quite different from the other Kia cars in India. The same can be said for the interior of both the cars as well. None of these look sore to the eye though, and it ultimately comes down to personal preference. In terms of choice of interior themes, exterior paint options and wheel design, Kia offers more options for its customers than Hyundai.

Alcazar features vs Carens features

2024 hyundai alcazar vs kia carens comparison interior features

The Hyundai Alcazar just underwent an update and it now gets some more interesting features that give it an upper hand here over the Kia Carens. Some of these features include an electric boss mode, extendable under-thigh support for second-row passengers, rear ventilated seats, and Level-2 ADAS. This does not, however, mean that the Kia Carens is underequipped. The Carens boasts a Bose sound system, one-touch tumble rear seats ensuring easy ingress and egress for third-row passengers, cruise control with speed limiter, and more.

Price in India

Despite sharing most of the mechanical features, the MPVs in question are positioned very differently from each other. The Kia Carens price starts at Rs 10.51 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 19.43 lakh, while the Hyundai Alcazar price starts at Rs 14.99 lakh going all the way up to Rs 21.54 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi. The Alcazar is offered in 14 variant choices as compared to 23 for the Carens.

Note: The comparison is based on the specifications of both these cars and we are yet to drive them side-by-side in order to provide a hands-on test report.
