Engine and gearbox options
The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire has to do with a three-cylinder petrol engine, while the Amaze gets a proper four-cylinder i-VTEC. But, the Amaze still misses on the option of a factory-CNG option, which is available as a dealer-level modification though. This might cost Honda quite a good number of customers. The Amaze does get a CVT though, which we can comment on only after driving the car (which we’re doing on the 11th of this month; stay tuned to our YouTube channel for the review!).

Design and dimensions
The most noticeable changes on both these cars have to be credited to the exterior designers. These sedans look a lot more upmarket than their predecessors. The Dzire, as we have said before, looks a lot like popular Audi cars, but it does have a character of its own. Its overall exterior design looks sophisticated and appealing. This does not mean that the new Amaze isn’t appealing. It gets its face from the Elevate and its rear end from the City. To sum it up, both these cars borrow key styling elements from cars above their segments, but have adapted them to create an overall cohesive look. The Amaze boasts of class-leading rear seat space, thanks to its wider cabin. It also has a 20mm longer wheelbase, and also has best-in-class ground clearance that's 9mm more than that of the Dzire.
