Outline

The Hyundai Creta is the benchmark for compact SUVs in India. It has been the best-seller in the segment for as long as one can remember. Last year, when my family was looking to replace our Maruti Ciaz with a new car, I had a tough time convincing my sister to go for a sedan. She did come to agreement, but then out of nowhere, our father went out to a Hyundai dealership and booked a Creta; a white Creta. Anyway, here are the top 5 reasons to buy the Hyundai Creta.

Extensive powertrain options

Hyundai is offering a wide range of powertrain options on the Creta, and there’s a high chance that one of those would fit your requirements. There’s a naturally-aspirated petrol, a turbo-petrol, and a diesel engine. All three engines are available with manual as well as automatic options. Speaking of automatics, the Creta gets a CVT, a torque converter, and a dual-clutch, too. There’s the Creta N Line as well, for the homely enthusiasts.

Long list of features

The list of features on the SUV is quite extensive too, with a host of tech, comfort, and safety features packed in. Key Hyundai Creta features include a dual-screen setup for instrumentation and infotainment, 8-speaker sound system, leatherette upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, projector headlamps, Level-2 ADAS functionalities, and more.

Practicality quotient

The Creta scores high on the practicality quotient, boasting of a boot space of 433 litres, 60:40 split function for the rear seats, plenty of space at the front as well as the rear, and lots of cubby holes and storage spaces to keep stuff in the cabin. The high ground clearance makes the Creta go over bad roads effortlessly.

Ride quality and performance

As we just mentioned, the Creta goes over bad roads and undulations with ease, thanks to its suspension system and ground clearance. Performance is adequate too, even with the naturally-aspirated petrol motor. Balanced styling

The pre-facelift second generation Creta wore a weird skin and had a polarising design, which has been taken care of with the current model. The new Hyundai Creta gets a balanced styling and a subtler look. It features sharp lines that blend well with the smooth curves and the car looks well-proportioned as a whole.
