As confirmed by our dealer sources, it has come to our notice that the Uttar Pradesh government has announced the waiving-off of road tax on hybrid vehicles registered in the state. This move has significantly brought down the prices of hybrid vehicles in the state of Uttar Pradesh, resulting in lucrative offers for prospective buyers. Add dealer discounts as well and you are looking at impressive savings, especially on the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara strong hybrid.

Only Nominal File Charges To Be Paid

Under this scheme, customers will be required to pay a nominal file charge of Rs 2,100 as part of the registration. Apart from that, the previously laid 8% road tax is completely waived off. This policy is applicable for the foreseeable future as there is no specified timeline as of now. We’ll bring you further updates as and when we get the information.

Save Up To Rs 3.13 Lakh On Maruti Grand Vitara!

The new car buyers can now save up to Rs 3.13 lakh on strong hybrids such as the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, all thanks to the new hybrid registration policy and lucrative discounts offered by select dealers. Maruti dealers are also offering a complimentary 5-year or 1,00,000-kilometre warranty on the Grand Vitara. Models Affected

The new policy is applicable on strong hybrid cars such as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Toyota Innova Hycross, Toyota Camry, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki Invicto, Lexus ES300h and Honda City e:HEV. It remains to be seen to what timeline the UP government will extend the subsidy. Furthermore, it would be interesting to see if other states also take notice and waive off road tax on hybrid vehicles.

The introduction of the subsidy on road tax should boost sales of hybrid vehicles in Uttar Pradesh, thereby curbing the environmental impact of ICE powered vehicles. It’s no secret that hybrid vehicles emit much less than conventional petrol and diesel vehicles.
