The Vietnamese EV maker has finally revealed the specifications of the much-awaited VinFast VF 3 EV SUV, and bookings for this upcoming electric car in India have commenced in the brand’s home country. While the brand claims to have received over 27,000 pre-orders in just 66 hours, we are still awaiting details about the official VinFast VF 3 EV launch in India. It is worth noting that the brand secured patents for this electric SUV in February this year.

VinFast VF 3 EV Range and Specifications

For starters, this new two-door EV measures 3,190 mm in length, 1,679 mm in width, and 1,622 mm in height, while the wheelbase measures 2,075 mm. For a quick comparison, it is 216 mm longer and 174 mm wider than the MG Comet in India, although the Comet is around 18 mm taller. The ground clearance, with optional 16-inch alloy wheels, is measured at 191 mm, making it a practical option for those living in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

The new VinFast VF 3 EV SUV features a single, rear-mounted electric motor that is claimed to deliver a peak power and torque output of 43.5 hp and 110 Nm, respectively. This motor draws charge from an 18.64kWh battery pack and can help the car do a 0-50kmph run in just 5.3 seconds. While the VinFast VF 3 EV range is claimed to be 210 km on a single charge, the charging time is said to be 36 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 70% using a fast charger.

VinFast VF 3 EV Price

The VinFast VF 3 EV price in India is likely to start from Rs 8-10 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a direct rival to the MG Comet and the upcoming Baojun Yep-based electric SUV, which is set to debut next year. In Vietnam, the VF 3 SUV is priced at VND 240 million without a battery pack and VND 322 million with a battery pack. Those opting for the without-battery variants will be required to sign up for VinFast battery pack subscription plans.

From what we know so far, VinFast is likely to make its Indian debut next year with the launch of two completely built import models - a compact SUV (VF e34) and a crossover hatchback (VF 5). The VF 3 EV design was patented in India in February this year, but the official launch timeline of this compact electric car is yet to be revealed.
