Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki will be launching their first electric vehicle in India, which was codenamed the eVX. The e Vitara will go against the likes of the upcoming Creta EV and more such electric SUVs in India. We recently spotted the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara being tested on the roads of Gurugram, and the manufacturer has revealed the production-spec version of the same in Italy.

Hyundai Creta EV
Expected launch timeline: First half of 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom)
Another electric SUV that has been much anticipated, the Creta EV, shall also debut in the coming months. It is expected to come with a 45kWh battery pack, as per media reports, and will share a lot of its design cues with its ICE counterpart. Keeping the costs in check, the Creta EV is likely to boast a single motor powering the front wheels, offering 138PS of power and 255Nm of torque.
Land Cruiser Prado
Expected launch timeline: Second half of 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom)
One of the latest entrants to join this list is the Land Cruiser Prado. Toyota is expected to launch the new Prado in the second half of calendar year 2025, after discontinuation of the SUV back in 2020. It is expected to be powered with the same 2.8-litre diesel engine that is seen on the Toyota Fortuner, mated to a 48 Volt mild hybrid system.
2025 Hyundai Tucson
Expected launch timeline: Mid-2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 29.50 lakh (ex-showroom)
A facelifted Hyundai Tucson was launched in the States a while back, and the same is expected to make its way to India in 2025. While the changes on the outside of the US-spec Tucson were noticed to be minimal, the cabin saw the return of physical controls and rotary dials for some basic functions. The new Tucson is also likely to get a new steering wheel with the four-dot Hyundai logo in the centre.

Kia Syros

Estimated starting price: Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom)
Earlier rumoured to be named the Kia Clavis, the upcoming Kia Syros SUV will sit between the Kia Sonet and the Kia Seltos. We can confirm that the Syros shall also get a diesel engine along with a petrol option. Spied features included a panoramic sunroof, front and rear sensors for ADAS, a twin-screen setup, and a two-spoke steering wheel.

Skoda Enyaq

Estimated starting price: Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Enyaq will be the first Skoda electric car in India when launched in early 2025. Built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, the Enyaq is the sister car of the Volkswagen ID.4, which is also likely to make its way to India sometime in the near future. Skoda has not yet revealed the specifications for the India-bound Skoda Enyaq.
Skoda Kylaq
Expected launch timeline: Early-2025
Starting price: Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
Another Skoda car in India to be launched in early 2025 is the new Kylaq sub-compact SUV. Revealed earlier this month,the Kylaq will come equipped with the 1.0-litre TSI engine that does duty on the Skoda Kushaq, Slavia, Volkswagen Taigun, and Virtus. It is underpinned by the India-spec MQB-A0-IN platform.
Tata Safari petrol
Expected launch timeline: Mid-2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 14.5 lakh (ex-showroom)
A petrol version of the Tata Safari has been much anticipated now, and is expected to make its way to our markets by mid-2025, as per media reports. The petrol unit that is likely to power the Safari will be the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with direct injection that was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024.

Tata Harrier petrol

Estimated starting price: Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom)
Along with the Tata Safari petrol, the Tata Harrier petrol will also be launched side-by-side featuring the same 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with direct injection. The Tata Harrier sales are expected to pick up after the introduction of a much-needed petrol engine.
Mini Toyota Fortuner

Toyota has been reported to be planning a mini-version of the Fortuner SUV to take on rivals such as the Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra Thar Roxx. It is likely to be built on the IMV platform that also underpins cars such as the Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Hilux, and Toyota Innova Crysta.
New Skoda Kodiaq

Estimated starting price: Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom)
The new generation of the Skoda Kodiaq SUV will make its way to India by May 2025, as confirmed by the Brand Director for Skoda Auto India. It will be assembled via CKD kits at one of the two Skoda plants in India, thereby reducing its hefty price tag. The new Kodiaq will retain the 2.0-litre TSI engine that is seen on the current model.

Skoda Kushaq Facelift

Estimated starting price: Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom)
Evidently, there are a lot of Skoda cars that’ll be coming our way next year. First launched in 2021, the Skoda Kushaq will be due for a facelift in 2025, and is expected to be here by August. While the powertrain options are likely to remain the same, you can expect notable changes in design, both on the inside as well as on the outside.
Volkswagen Taigun Facelift

Estimated starting price: Rs 11.80 lakh (ex-showroom)
Following the footsteps of its sister car — Skoda Kushaq — the Volkswagen Taigun would also see a facelifted version by the end of next year, and the same has been confirmed by the Brand Director of VW India. The new Taigun would get an ADAS suite and a panoramic sunroof, both of which are becoming increasingly common on cars that share a similar price bracket.
New Mahindra Bolero

Estimated starting price: Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom)
Codenamed as U171, a new generation of the Bolero is being developed by Mahindra, that too based on a monocoque chassis. The same would reportedly be sold alongside the current generation of the Bolero, albeit donning a suffix, like they did with the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N. It might be launched by the end of 2025 or by early 2026.

Mahindra XEV 9e

Mahindra is working to launch a lineup of electric SUVs in the coming months, the first of which is likely to be the Mahindra XEV 9e, earlier known as the XUV.e8. The XEV 9e will be an electric version of the popular Mahindra XUV700, and has been spied testing quite a few times now. Spy shots suggest that the upcoming Mahindra electric SUV would feature a three-screen layout on the dashboard.
Mahindra BE 6e
Expected launch timeline: Early-2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom)
Mahindra BE 6e will be the manufacturer’s first born-electric vehicle, and is expected to be launched in early 2025. Featuring a sloping roofline and an edgy design language, the BE 6e, erstwhile BE.05, will look very different from Mahindra’s ICE vehicles. On the inside, it will get a dual-screen setup and a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated ‘BE’ logo at the centre.

Renault Duster

The Duster is surely one of the most recognizable monikers in this list, and Renault is planning a comeback for the same sometime in 2025. Sold as the Dacia Duster in certain international markets, the Renault Duster will go head on with popular SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. It might just be the best bet to make Renault thrive in India.
Nissan Terrano
Expected launch timeline: 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom)
Nissan is likely to launch its own version of the Renault Duster in 2025. Erstwhile named as the Nissan Terrano, the upcoming SUV might come with a new name. Nissan hasn’t revealed any details about the same yet, though it has announced plans to launch a bunch of SUVs in the following months.
Tata Harrier EV
Expected launch timeline: March 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom)
Tata Motors has confirmed in one of its financial meetings that the carmaker has planned to launch the Harrier EV by the end of the financial year 2024-25. Spy shots suggest that the Tata Harrier EV will be offered in both RWD and AWD configurations with a claimed range of around 500 kilometres.

Tata Sierra
Expected launch timeline: End-2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 28 lakh (ex-showroom)
Along with confirming the Tata Harrier EV launch timeline, Tata also said that it will launch the refreshed Tata Sierra in its electric avatar by the end of 2025. Sierra has been an iconic brand for the Indian carmaker, and it aims to revive it with this upcoming electric vehicle featuring the latest technology while also donning styling hints from the original SUV.
Mercedes-Benz EQG
Expected launch timeline: 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom)
The Mercedes-Benz EQG, or the G 580 with EQ technology, or simply the electric G-Wagon, shall make its way to India sometime in 2025. Mercedes-Benz India has already started accepting pre-bookings for the electric SUV. It comes with four electric motors, a 116kWh battery pack, and a WLTP claimed range of 473 kilometres.

Volkswagen ID.4
Expected launch timeline: 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom)
Skoda Enyaq’s sister-car, the VW ID.4, shall also be launched in India in 2025. While Volkswagen hasn’t yet revealed the exact specifications of the India-spec model, the launch of the same had been confirmed earlier this year when it showcased the car here. The ID.4 will arrive as a CBU, so don’t expect it to be cheap.
Kia EV6 Facelift
Expected launch timeline: 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 62 lakh (ex-showroom)
Kia unveiled a facelift of the EV6 back at its hometown earlier this year, and it is expected to bring the same to India in 2025. It might also get a bigger battery pack than the one currently on offer. Key design changes include redesigned headlights, reprofiled bumpers, a new steering wheel, and new alloy wheels.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift
Expected launch timeline: 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom)
Even before the facelifted Kia EV6 arrived the Ioniq 5 facelift, which is also expected to be here next year. The global-spec model also got a bigger battery pack like the EV6. It also claims to get improved side collision protection, as well as ADAS functionalities.
