After launching the Kushaq and Slavia and following innumerous special editions, Skoda India is finally launching an all-new product for the Indian market. While its launch is still far away, Skoda has confirmed the name of its latest SUV — Kylaq — as it will be called in the Indian market. Read on to know more about the upcoming Skoda Kylaq compact SUV.

Skoda Kylaq Name Confirmed For Skoda’s Latest SUV

The Skoda Kylaq will hit the showroom floors in 2025 and join other Skoda offerings, which currently include the Kodiaq, Superb, Kushaq and Slavia. The Kylaq will go against the likes of other compact SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.

Skoda Kylaq Design

Skoda is yet to reveal the first images of the Skoda Kylaq. However, the design sketches give us a glimpse of what the new Skoda SUV could look like. Up front, the Skoda Kylaq will offer a split LED headlight design, with the LED DRLs sitting atop the headlight clusters. Connected to the LED DRLs will be Skoda’s signature radiator grille and updated logo. At the back, the Kylaq will offer LED tail lights, like that of the Kushaq, and Skoda lettering spread across the boot lid.

Skoda Kylaq

On the inside, the Skoda Kylaq is likely to get a well appointed cabin along with a long list of features. Like the Kushaq, the Kylaq will also offer a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument cluster, 2-spoke multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, 360-degree parking camera and ventilated front seats.

Skoda Kylaq Engine Options

While Skoda is yet to reveal any details on this front, the Skoda Kylaq is likely to carry over the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine from the Kushaq. In the Kushaq, this 3-cylinder engine produces 115PS of power and 178Nm of torque and we expect the same tune to be offered with the Kylaq. However, unlike the Kushaq, the Kylaq is unlikely to offer the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine as it will not comply with the small car tax benefits.

Skoda Kylaq Launch Timeline

Skoda has revealed the launch of the Kylaq compact SUV in 2025, with the reveal expected to take place in early 2025. As we mentioned earlier, the Skoda Kylaq will rival the range of compact SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. We expect the Skoda Kylaq price to range between 8 lakh and 13 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
