Upcoming next-gen Hyundai Creta - What to expect?

The Hyundai Creta has been a bestseller since the launch of the first generation. The Hyundai Creta sales in India have only gone up throughout model updates, and the current model that is being sold in the Indian market is the second generation facelift that was introduced in 2024. As per a report by Autocar India, the next generation Hyundai Creta will be launched in 2027. Here’s what to expect from the upcoming next gen Hyundai Creta. 

Upcoming Hyundai Creta third generation

The Hyundai Creta was first launched in India back in 2015, with the second generation being launched five years later in 2020. The current model that is on sale in the facelifted second generation, and the model to follow will be the third generational model, which is expected to get more significant updates than the current iteration did.

Hyundai Creta hybrid?

The updated Creta might be based on a different platform than the current model. While it is likely to retain most of its powertrain options such as the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with direct injection that comes with a manual and a DCT, the new Hyundai Creta might also be offered with a hybrid powertrain. There is already news about the upcoming Kia Seltos hybrid, and the Creta, which is the sister car of the Seltos, has also been speculated to get a strong hybrid setup on future models.

Refreshed Hyundai Creta design

The design of the second generational model was polarising, and things have been ironed out with the recent facelift. The upcoming third generation Hyundai Creta will bring with itself more design changes, and is likely to be revolutionary rather than evolutionary in terms of styling. Fit and finish levels on the Hyundai Creta interior are expected to be improved with the generational update. Concrete details from the carmaker on any of these speculations are yet to be received. 

Longer Hyundai Creta feature list and better safety

We cannot really call the current gen Hyundai Creta underequipped, and Hyundai cars in India are known for being stuffed with creature comforts. Nonetheless, the new Creta will naturally be even better equipped with potential additions such as ventilated rear seats, memory function for the driver’s seat setting, and more. The Hyundai Creta safety features might also witness some more additions such as a pair of front fog lamps. With reinforced safety, the new Creta is also likely to perform better at NCAP crash tests, earning a better Hyundai Creta safety rating.

New Hyundai Creta India launch timeline

As per the report by Autocar India, the third gen Hyundai Creta launch in India is expected to take place in 2027. It should soon be followed by an updated Hyundai Creta Electric, which was recently launched in India. Expected the Hyundai Creta price in India to go up by a good margin due to added features and R&D costs.
