- 1Mahindra XUV 3XO EV comes into shape with updated design
- 2New dual-tone alloy wheel design revealed by new spy shots
- 3Likely to go on sale alongside the larger XUV400 EV
Mahindra is in the process of updating its only electric model in the lineup — the Mahindra XUV 400. Just like the XUV 3XO that was renamed from the XUV 300, we expect Mahindra to rename its electric crossover too, to either the XUV 3XO EV or the XUV 400. A new set of recent spy shots revealed the updated alloy wheel design for the new Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. Read on to know more details about Mahindra electric vehicle plans for the coming years.
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV spotted
While the size for the updated alloy wheels is unknown, it seems to have taken a multi-spoke dual-tone design, which surely looks more pleasing than what’s offered with the XUV400. Speaking of the rest of the design, it’s not that far-off from the ICE-powered XUV 3XO. The front profile continues to get the vertically-stacked LED headlights, which will now be flanked with an enclosed grille. Like the XUV400, the spotted model also featured a charging port on the front passenger side. Around the back, it gets the same connected LED DRL setup, however, the bumpers could see some reprofiling.

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV interior
On the inside, the spy shots reveal an identical interior to the ICE-powered XUV 3XO. The dashboard gets the freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display and physical controls for air-con. Exclusive to the EVs, the interior also gets cooper inserts, which is a signature design element for all Mahindra EVs. Since it boasts similar dimensions to its ICE sibling, we do not expect any changes when it comes to the overall practicality and space on the inside.
Will the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV and XUV400 co-exist?
What’s interesting to note is that the XUV 3XO EV spotted shares its sub-4-metre dimensions with the XUV 3XO, whereas the XUV400 measures over 4 metres in length, in order to offer better boot space. Will Mahindra replace the XUV400 with the new XUV 3XO EV or continue with both models is unknown at this point. If decided to co-exist, we can expect the XUV 3XO EV offering a smaller battery pack with shorter range compared to that of the XUV 400.
