Upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs' battery and power specs revealed — New INGLO platform

Ahead of the launch of Mahindra’s first BEVs, the BE 6e and XEV 9e, the manufacturer has revealed a couple of key details about its new INGLO platform that it has developed in collaboration with Volkswagen. The INGLO platform shall underpin the range of upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs in India. Here’s more about the upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs’ battery and power specifications.

New INGLO platform

Mahindra has developed its own modular skateboard platform, the INGLO, which it also claims to be among the lightest skate platforms in the EV industry. Mahindra has partnered with Volkswagen to share components from their MEB platform, which underpins a range of electric vehicles from the Volkswagen Group such as the Volkswagen ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, and Audi Q4 e-tron. Mahindra also said that the INGLO will enable their SUVs to get a lower centre of gravity, thereby improving their handling, stability, and reducing roll.

Battery, power and charging time

The upcoming Mahindra XEV 9e and Mahindra BE 6e will be offered with the options for a 59kWh battery pack and a 79 kWh battery pack. Mahindra claims a 20% to 80% charging time of just 20 minutes when done via a 175kW DC charger. Power outputs are said to be in the range of 231PS to 286PS, in rear-drive configurations. SUVs with an AWD configuration shall have a higher power output due to the addition of a front-mounted motor.

Mahindra BE 6e & XEV 9e reveal date

Mahindra is set to do a global unveil of its range of upcoming electric vehicles in India, the Mahindra BE 6e and Mahindra XEV 9e, on November 26, 2024 at Chennai. This will mark a significant milestone for Mahindra as well as for the Indian automotive industry.
