Kia India has just released some sketches of one of its upcoming SUVs, and we might know which one they belong to. Here’s more information about this upcoming Kia SUV.
New Kia SUV in India
The differentiated b-pillar and c-pillar designs give away that the released sketches are of the Syros/Clavis SUV, which is set to be positioned between two of the most popular Kia cars in India — Sonet and Seltos. Kia has made some bold claims with this upcoming SUV, like a purposeful design, cutting-edge technology, class-leading convenience features and an ultra-spacious, comfortable cabin. Let’s see how much of it translates to real-life.
Design
The design of this upcoming SUV is said to be inspired by the new Carnival and the EV9 electric SUV. We spied a test mule a few months ago, and it gave a throwback to the design of the Skoda Yeti. The rear lights are L-shaped, as seen in the released sketches. Slim LED DRLs are also visible.

Expected powertrain options
The test mule that we spotted had a diesel engine, which is likely to be the same unit that is available on the Sonet and the Seltos. It is also natural to expect a petrol engine. Kia is yet to release details about the engine and transmission options as of date.

Other expected features include a 360-degree camera setup, automatic climate control, and front ventilated seats.
