Upcoming Kia SUV in India to be named Kia Syros — Confirmed by Kia India

Kia India has confirmed that their upcoming SUV, which is being developed under the Kia 2.0 programme, will be named as the Kia Syros. Earlier, there were speculations that the SUV could be named either the Clavis or Syros. Kia India has now officially confirmed the moniker and the SUV is expected to be up for sale by next year. The Syros is an upcoming SUV that is being developed by Kia to be positioned between the Sonet and the Seltos. Kia has made some bold claims with this upcoming SUV, like a purposeful design, cutting-edge technology, class-leading convenience features and an ultra-spacious, comfortable cabin.

Design

Kia recently released a couple of outline sketches of the Syros. It says that the design takes inspiration from high-end Kia models like the Carnival and EV9. We spied a test mule a few months ago, and it gave a throwback to the design of the Skoda Yeti. Sketches reveal L-shaped rear lights and slim LED DRLs on the front.

Upcoming Kia Syros features

The Kia Syros test mule that we spied featured a leather-wrapped two-spoke steering wheel, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, rear ADAS sensors, and a twin-screen setup for instrumentation and infotainment. Expected features include automatic climate control, ESP, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and more.

New Kia Syros expected price and launch timeline
