Upcoming Kia Carens EV launch in India to happen in June 2025 — More details!

There has been an influx of new electric cars in India over the last few months, and the number is only going to go up in the near future, with both premium as well as mass market brands coming up with built-EVs as well as retrofitted iterations. Following the new Hyundai Creta Electric India launch, Kia is set to bring an electric Kia Carens to our shores, and the launch of the same will be taking place in June 2025. Here are more details about this upcoming electric car in India.

2025 Kia Carens electric

As reported earlier, Kia India has been developing an electric version of its Carens MPV, which will be its first mass market electric vehicle in India, the EV6 and EV9 being premium offerings. The Carens EV is also expected to soon be joined by the Kia Syros EV, an ICE version of which was recently introduced.

Electric Kia Carens India launch timeline

As reported by Autocar India, the Kia Carens EV India launch will take place in June this year, following the 2025 Kia Carens facelift India launch, which it has said will happen in April 2025. Kia has already been doing pretty well in the Indian market and these new products will expand its presence here.

New Kia Carens EV specs

There hasn’t been any official information about the specs of the Carens EV from the carmaker yet, but we expect the car to borrow its powertrain from the 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric. The Hyundai Creta EV comes powered by an electric motor that produces 135PS of power with a 42kWh battery pack, and 171PS with a 51.4kWh battery pack.

Kia Carens EV design

The Kia Carens electric has been spied testing a couple of times, and the overall proportions of the MPV do not seem to be vastly different from its ICE counterpart. The test mule featured a closed front grille and a different style for the headlamps, which will also be seen on the upcoming Kia Carens facelift (ICE).
