The upcoming new-generation of the Toyota Fortuner is expected to get a ton of enhancements and changes as compared to the current generation. Latest reports now suggest that it could also debut Toyota’s new 2.0-litre turbocharged-petrol engine. Here’s more about this news.

Toyota’s new turbo-petrol engine

Toyota had showcased a new 2.0-litre turbocharged-petrol engine earlier this year that is under development by the Japanese company. Rather than adopting a 100% EV approach, Toyota is betting on a future that makes use of ICE, EV technology, as well as hybrids. The said engine is expected to make its debut on the upcoming new generation of the popular Toyota Fortuner. The same is also likely to make its way to the Toyota Hilux pick-up truck.

The third generation Toyota Fortuner is expected to get a fully revamped design both on the exterior as well as the interior. The interior is expected to feature a modern styling language along with premium materials and latest technological features to justify the high price of the SUV. Some of the expected features include a panoramic sunroof, a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, 360-degree cameras, and ADAS functionalities.
