Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
Expected launch timeline: March 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom)
Suzuki revealed its first electric car in the world at Milan, Italy, and the same will be launched in India next year. The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will go against the likes of the upcoming Creta EV and more such electric SUVs in India. Credit where it is due, the e Vitara gets a brand-new interior that looks refreshing and premium.
Hyundai Creta EV
Expected launch timeline: January 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom)
Hyundai is planning to launch an electric Creta to replace its now discontinued Kona EV. It has been spied testing multiple times, and is expected to come with a 45kWh battery pack, as per media reports. Keeping the costs in check, the Creta EV is likely to boast a single motor powering the front wheels.

Skoda Enyaq
Expected launch timeline: Early-2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom)
Skoda is ready to launch its first electric vehicle in India too, the Skoda Enyaq. Built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, the Enyaq is the sister car of the Volkswagen ID.4. Skoda is yet to reveal the exact specifications of the India-spec Skoda Enyaq electric SUV.
Mahindra XEV 9e
Expected launch timeline: Early-2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom)
Earlier speculated to be launched as the XUV.e8, the Mahindra XEV 9e is the upcoming electric version of Mahindra’s popular SUV, the XUV700. Spy shots of the XEV 9e suggest that the car would come with a triple screen layout on the dashboard (eh!).
Mahindra BE 6e
Expected launch timeline: Early-2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom)
Alongside the XEV 9e, Mahindra will also launch its first born electric vehicle, the BE 6e. Featuring a sloping roofline and an edgy design language, the BE 6e, erstwhile BE.05, will look very different from Mahindra’s ICE vehicles. On the inside, it will get a dual-screen setup and a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated ‘BE’ logo at the centre.

Tata Harrier EV
Expected launch timeline: March 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom)
Tata has recently confirmed that it will launch the Harrier EV by the end of this financial year. We expect it to get a claimed range of over 500 kilometres, and the option for both 2WD and 4WD configurations. Tata gave us a glimpse of the Harrier EV at the Bharat Mobility Show earlier this year, and it closely resembled the ICE version of the SUV.
Tata Sierra EV
Expected launch timeline: End-2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 28 lakh (ex-showroom)
The second electric vehicle to be launched by Tata Motors next year will be a reimagined version of the Tata Sierra. The upcoming Sierra takes inspiration from the OG Sierra in terms of its iconic design traits, but that’s where the similarities end. Tata shall also launch an ICE-version of the Sierra after the Sierra EV launch in India.
Mercedes-Benz EQG
Expected launch timeline: 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom)
The Mercedes-Benz EQG, or the G 580 with EQ technology, or simply the electric G-Wagon, shall make its way to India sometime in 2025. Powered by four electric motors, this monster of an SUV claims to retain its electric prowess while providing a futuristic experience.

Volkswagen ID.4
Expected launch timeline: 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom)
As we spoke of earlier, Volkswagen also has plans to launch its first electric vehicle in India, which happens to be their version of the Skoda Enyaq. VW has already confirmed that the ID.4 will arrive in India as a CBU, so expect it to come with a hefty price tag.
Kia EV6 Facelift
Expected launch timeline: 2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 62 lakh (ex-showroom)
Kia unveiled a facelift of the EV6 back at its hometown earlier this year, and it is expected to bring the same to India in 2025. It might also get a bigger battery pack than the one currently on offer. Key design changes include redesigned headlights, reprofiled bumpers, a new steering wheel, and new alloy wheels.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift

Estimated starting price: Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom)
Hyundai is also likely to launch the facelifted version of the Ioniq 5 that was globally unveiled even before the EV6 facelift. It also gets a bigger battery pack and revised design elements, along with added features such as an ADAS suite.

Kia Carens EV
Expected launch timeline: Early-2025
Estimated starting price: Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom)
While Hyundai is developing an electric version of the Creta, Kia is working on electrifying its Carens MPV. Speculated to launch in early 2025, the Carens EV might pick some design cues from high-end Kia models like the Carnival and EV9.
MG EVs
Expected launch timeline: 2025
Estimated starting price: N/A
JSW MG Motor India has also planned to launch a few electric vehicles in India in the upcoming months, though it hasn’t revealed any details as to what segment would these EVs belong to. We expect MG to launch at least two new models in 2025, one of which could be the Cyberster that they have already showcased several times.
