Launched in September 2021, the Volkswagen Taigun has been a successful product for the brand for three years and gives a tough competition to the rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Tata Nexon. A facelift for the car is due and has been confirmed by Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen India. Though there have been quite some updates here and there, there hasn’t been a full-fledged facelift yet. Upcoming 2024 Volkswagen Taigun Facelift New Features
As seen on many cars in a similar price bracket these days, the Volkswagen Taigun facelift features would most likely include a panoramic sunroof in addition to better safety features including ADAS functionalities. We might also see a pair of tweeters for the rear passengers, height adjustment for the co-driver’s seat, and a 360-degree camera setup.
Updated Exterior And Interior
Apart from the feature updates inside, the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun facelift is expected to get redesigned front and rear bumpers, and a new design for the lights. The interior might also see a refresh in terms of new themes and a new dashboard layout.

Same Powertrains
The facelifted Volkswagen Taigun is expected to retain the same set of powertrains as seen on the current Taigun. These include a 1.0-litre TSI engine that is paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor, and a 1.5-litre TSI engine that is paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG.
2025 Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Expected Price & Rivals
The current-generation of the Volkswagen Taigun is priced between Rs 11.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base variant and Rs 19.73 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-of-the-line GT Plus Chrome 1.5-litre TSI DSG variant. The GT Edge Sport 1.5-litre TSI DSG variant tops up at Rs 19.99 lakh. Popular Volkswagen Taigun rivals include Hundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate and its own sister car, the Skoda Kushaq.

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen India, while speaking to EVO India, has hinted that the updated Volkswagen Taigun lineup will be launched in India by the end of 2025.
