There have been multiple spy shots of what’s rumoured to be the Carens facelift all over the internet over the past few months. A new set of spy shots have emerged online revealing key details about the upcoming 2025 Kia Carens. In this article, we share everything we know about the upcoming 2025 Kia Carens including its positioning and launch timeline.

Will it replace the Carens?

There has been a rumour circulating about the possibility of the new Carens going alongside the outgoing model rather than replacing it. And as we think of it, the rumour does make sense. Every carmaker tries to establish its products away from the commercial segment, more so with cars like the Kia Carens, Toyota Innova and Maruti Dzire. That’s why we have the more-premium Innova Hycross placed above the Crysta and the new Dzire is not even available for the commercial buyers.

A similar move is likely from Kia India. Given the immense popularity of the current Carens MPV in the fleet segment, the carmaker wouldn’t want to miss out on those volumes. Therefore, positioning the updated model would benefit both parties—keeping the commercial segment unharmed from the price hike that would naturally come with the update and in turn, also ensuring the new Carens caters to the premium private buyers. Furthermore, this would enable Kia to also broaden the price segment of the Carens and cram more creature comforts that are currently missing in the current model.

2025 Kia Carens features

As we are on the topic of 2025 Kia Carens features, the new set of spy shots have given us a sneak peek into what we can expect from the update. The highlight, of course, is the presence of a panoramic sunroof, making it one of very few affordable MPVs to offer a dual-pane unit. Another notable feature is the ADAS module, as seen in the images, that should enable Level-2 ADAS features in the 2025 Carens. Other upcoming Kia Carens facelift features could include a larger connected binnacle for the 12.3-inch infotainment system as well as instrument cluster, front and rear ventilated seats, surround-view camera, powered driver’s seat and more.

2025 Kia Carens design

Moving on to the way the new Carens would look, there would be plenty of changes in terms of design. The new spy shots of the 2025 Kia Carens design reveal significant changes made to front and rear profiles. Up front, it is going to get vertically-stacked LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs, similar to what we get in the Kia Syros. Other changes at the front could include a reprofiled bumper as well as a tweaked grille design. Around the side, the only perceptible change is going to be a new set of machined alloy wheels while the rear will get new connected LED tail lights and a new bumper. Expect the new Carens design to be EV-like since the same model, at some point, will be also available as an EV.

2025 Kia Carens engine options

The upcoming 2025 Kia Carens engine options are likely to be the same as the current model. These engine options include a 115PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 6-speed manual, a 115PS 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT.

2025 Kia Carens India launch timeline

Multiple media reports have confirmed that Kia India will launch the facelifted Carens by August 2025. It might initially be sold to just private buyers, with leftover units of the outgoing model being available for commercial buyers. Kia is yet to confirm the same. Given the price point of the current Carens that falls in the range between Rs 10.60 lakh and Rs 19.70 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi, the 2025 Kia Carens is likely to carry a slight premium, especially over the higher variants.
