- 2New GLC 43 AMG Coupe to pack 2.0L four-cylinder
- 3Launch slated for August 8
Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch two new models on August 8, 2024. The German carmaker is set to launch the CLE Cabriolet and the GLC 43 Coupe performance SUV in the Indian market. The introduction of the new models comes soon after the launch of the new EQA and updated EQB electric SUVs.
Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet
Mercedes-Benz offers the most number of convertible models in the Indian market and the carmaker is extending its lead with yet another launch — the CLE Cabriolet. The new CLE Cabriolet was unveiled recently as a replacement for the C- and the E-Class Cabriolet, which was also on sale in the 53 AMG guise in India.

The German carmaker is yet to reveal the engine specifications of the India-bound CLE. Globally, the 2+2 convertible offers the option of 2.0L petrol and diesel engine options, with rear- and all-wheel drivetrain options. Mercedes-Benz also offers an AMG 53 model, which uses a 3.0L twin-turbocharged straight-six petrol engine, which also did duty on the E 53 AMG Cabriolet. More details of the new CLE Cabriolet will emerge on its India launch, which is slated for August 8.
Mercedes GLC 43 AMG Coupe
While we are not sure about the powertrain of the CLE, the upcoming coupe SUV from Mercedes-Benz will come in the 43 AMG guise. The new GLC 43 AMG Coupe was revealed globally last year and like its C 43 AMG sedan counterpart, the coupe SUV also features a fire-craker of an engine — the 2.0L four-cylinder with electric gas turbocharger. The potent four-banger puts out 421PS of power and 500Nm of torque. A 48V hybrid assist further enhances its output by 14PS and 150Nm for a brief duration. The engine channels power to all four wheels via the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.
