Triber-based Nissan MPV India launch confirmed for this year
- 1Nissan to launch Renault Triber-based MPV in 2025
- 2Will be manufactured in India and exported to other global markets
- 3Design is likely to share details with the upcoming Renault Triber facelift
Nissan India, except for the recent launches like the Magnite facelift and X-Trail, has been largely inactive for the past few years. Its portfolio has the Magnite sub-compact SUV as the only sales driver as the X-Trail—with its obnoxious price tag—has been unable to do much. However, things are set to change for the Japanese carmaker in the Indian market, owing to the upcoming Nissan cars in India. Nissan has confirmed the Renault-Triber-based MPV for the Indian market and we share all the details about this upcoming Nissan MPV.
Triber-based Nissan compact MPV incoming
Nissan has already revealed the first concept image of its upcoming MPV that—quite understandably—resembles the Renault Triber. Afterall, both cars will share the same underpinnings and overall design. The Triber, which has been on sale in the Indian market since 2019, has performed quite well thanks to its unique positioning and impressive packaging. Nissan’s iteration of the same will also take advantage of these pillars, in order to draw more sales to the Japanese carmaker, until the future products arrive.

Nissan compact MPV design
The first teaser image gives us a glimpse of what the Nissan’s iteration of the Renault Triber could look like. The image reveals the front image of the upcoming Nissan MPV, which seems to have a connected light bar at the front, adjoining the headlights. Other key details at the front include a large radiator grille with Nissan logo in the centre and chrome garnishing on the front bumper. We can see some other small changes in the form of a new design for the alloy wheels and revised LED tail lights. Needless to say, few of these changes will also influence the design of the upcoming Renault Triber facelift.
Nissan compact MPV engine details
Mechanically, the Nissan compact MPV will remain identical to the Renault Triber. That means it will come powered by a sole 1.0-litre Energy-series three-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated manual transmission. Renault also offers a dealer-level CNG option with the Triber but it remains to be seen whether the same gets offered with the Nissan iteration or not.

Upcoming Nissan MPV India launch timeline
Nissan India has officially confirmed its plans to launch the Triber-based MPV in the financial year 2025. It remains to be seen whether Nissan decides to take advantage and launch its MPV before the launch of the Triber facelift or enter the MPV space after the updated Triber. Either ways, the Nissan MPV—like the Triber—will be manufactured in India and exported to multiple global markets.
