Toyota Urban Cruiser EV concept revealed — India launch soon?

Toyota Motors showcased several models at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025, including the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV concept. While the Toyota Urban Cruiser has been on the market for some time and has already seen good sales, the electric version of this model is now on the horizon.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV is built on the Heartect-e skateboard platform, which also underpins the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. Keep reading below for more details on the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV concept, its features, specifications, launch timeline for India, and more.

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV concept exterior & dimensions

The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV exterior features sharply positioned headlights with LED DRLs in a dot-like pattern, a closed-off grille, and the charging port located on the left side above the wheel arch. It also comes with a shark fin antenna, a roof spoiler, and a similar dot-patterned LED taillight. It will be available with 18-inch or 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

The Urban Cruiser EV dimensions measure 4,285 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,640 mm in height, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV interior is expected to feature a modern design, with some elements likely inspired by the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV features are expected to include a dual-screen setup, consisting of a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster. 

Additional features include multi-zone climate control, a wireless charger, a two-spoke steering wheel, multiple speakers, adjustable driver and co-driver seats, and more. The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV safety features are expected to include multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, TPMS, VSM, an ADAS suite, and more.

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV battery specs

In international markets, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV gets two battery options: a 49 kWh battery providing 144 PS and 189 Nm, and a 61 kWh battery that delivers up to 184 PS and 300 Nm. It comes with standard front-wheel drive, with an optional all-wheel drive available on the larger battery pack. The range can exceed 550 km.

Upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser EV India launch

The Toyota Urban Cruiser EV launch in India is expected to happen this year, probably in the second half, but definitely not before the launch of the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, which is set to take place in the first half of 2025.
