Toyota India has updated the Hilux pick-up range with a new Black Edition. Showcased first at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025, the Toyota Hilux Black Edition has been launched in India at Rs 37.90 lakh ex-showroom. Read on to know more about the new Toyota Hilux Black Edition.
Toyota Hilux Black Edition — What’s different?
The Toyota Hilux Black Edition, as the name suggests, offers an all-black persona, which is quite in trend these days. In addition to the black exterior colour, it offers black garnishing on the front grille, side body fenders, ORVMs, fuel lid, door handles and 18-inch alloy wheels. All these additions make the appeal of the Hilux a lot more stealthy and goes well with its huge proportions.

On the inside, the interior gets an all-black dashboard there—like the standard top-end Hilux—and black leatherette upholstery. Since the Hilux Black Edition is based on the top-spec AT variant of the Hilux, it offers the same set of features, a few of which include 7 airbags, dual-zone climate control, powered driver’s seat and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Surprisingly, the Hilux Black Edition comes at the same price as the model it’s based on—at Rs 37.90 lakh ex-showroom, it does not carry any price premium whatsoever.

Toyota Hilux powertrain details
Since there are no mechanical changes made to the Hilux Black Edition, it carries the same capable diesel automatic 4x4 powertrain as the standard model. Its 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine churns out 204PS of power and 500Nm of torque, all of which is channelled to the rear wheels via a 6-speed AT and should you wish, it turns into a super capable 4x4 at the flick of a switch. Needless to say, it also offers the option of 4L to deal with treacherous terrain and an electronic limited-slip differential ensures that your rear wheels do a lot more than spinning in the air constantly—like you would expect from a capable 4WD pickup that the Hilux is.

The Toyota Hilux Black Edition bookings are open across India and deliveries have begun too. If you are on the lookout for a capable off-road pick-up, you don’t have many options, do you? Furthermore, the Hilux makes even more sense when you realise that it offers the same capable powertrain of the Fortuner 4x4 at a much lower price. The only place you will then have to spend your money on is a large parking space, given the gigantic proportions of the Hilux.
